The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is proud to be an official partner of the Canadian Tulip Festival!
Since May 1953, Ottawa residents — along with visitors from around the world — have enjoyed the opportunity to see over 300,000 vividly coloured tulips in Commissioners Park.
In May 2024, visitors to the museum and the festival can enjoy the following benefits:
Convenient parking
Canadian Tulip Festival visitors can park in the museum’s main visitor parking lot, located along Prince of Wales Drive. Please note regular parking fees apply.
Tulip Walking Path
Parking at the museum to access the Canadian Tulip Festival? Simply follow the Tulip Walking Path to access Commissioners Park, across from Dow’s Lake. The marked path will lead you through the beautiful Ornamental Gardens and Arboretum of the Central Experimental Farm, across Prince of Wales Drive and down to the start of the festival activities. Note the walk is about 15 to 20 minutes, and includes grassy stretches without a paved path.
Museum programming and demonstrations
While you’re parked at the museum, take some time to visit the barns and meet the resident animals (please note regular admission fees apply). Check out our newest photo exhibition, The Island in the Middle of Everywhere, which explores a fascinating archaeological project on Xwe’etay, also known as Lasqueti Island. Throughout May and June, the museum will be featuring programming and demonstrations around the theme of “Planting Roots.” For a schedule of visitor offerings, see Daily Interpretation.
